We are delighted to welcome INEOS Beveren and INEOS Lillo as users of the Employability Manager and EduBuilder.
While both facilities are based in Belgium they belong to different parts of the INEOS organisation. Below you can read a little more about each location.
INOES Beveren: Phenol
The site in the harbour area of Antwerp, Beligum, was constructed in 1992 with its first product appearing in May 1993. INEOS acquired the Doel (Antwerp) site in 2001. The initial capacity of 200,000 te/a was quickly expanded to 420,000 te/a four years later. In 2008, when other producers were contracting, production capacity was expanded further to at least 680,000 te/a of Phenol by installing our latest proprietary production technology. As a result Antwerp became the world’s largest Phenol production facility.
Access to Europe’s premium shipping hub allows the business to supply all our cumene and the vast majority of our finished product by ship via our jetty at the river Schelde. The site has excellent storage and distribution facilities and has the capacity to store over 40,000 m³ of raw materials and finished product.
INEOS Lillo: Olefins & Polymers Europe
INEOS O&P Europe's’manufacturing plant at Lillo in Belgium is located on a 45-hectare site in the port of Antwerp, 23 kilometres north of the city centre. Polymers production began in 1992 with the manufacture of polypropylene and high-density polyethylene.
The polypropylene unit at Lillo is dedicated to the production of speciality PP materials; particularly heat-seal resins for which INEOS is a world leader. The product mix continues to evolve into more sophisticated products with increased capacity.
The HDPE plant in Lillo has a total capacity of 440,000 tons per year on two production lines. Product applications include pressure pipe, automotive fuel tanks and blow moulding.
With about 170 people on the site, INEOS O&P Europe applies the highest standards for health, safety and the environment.
